On The Town: Prime Founder, Dianne Patterson

On The Town with Prime Founder, Dianne Patterson

Prime Women is On The Town with Dianne Patterson in the Big Apple! Dianne is pictured above at the Metropolitan Opera House preparing to hear “Don Pasquale” with her husband, Don. The performance that night set a record for consecutive (and very rarely permitted) mid-performance encores of an aria. Read the article about Javier Camarena making Met history during “Don Pasquale” here. Almost any ballet, opera or symphony performance at Lincoln Center is worthwhile. Dianne and Don Patterson dined with guests at the River Cafe beneath the Brooklyn Bridge in the DUMBO, Vinegar Hill area of Brooklyn. The barge upon which the restaurant sits was almost totally destroyed during Super Storm Sandy in 2012 and was closed for 15 months following for reconstruction. The River Cafe is as beautiful now as it ever was, and the views of Manhattan are incomparable. The new One World Trade Center of “Freedom Tower” is visible as is the Statue of Liberty from the chic eatery.

River CafeThe food is delicious, and the crowd is nice looking and smartly dressed. A couple got engaged during the meal much to the delight of all the diners. The “Will you marry me?” question was put to the unsuspecting soon to be fiance’ with icing on the cake. The crowd broke into applause when a surprised, but very pleased squeal of “yes!” was heard above the general conversation. No wonder this restaurant is featured in so many movies. It is so romantic!
