Prep Your Face

This look incorporates the dramatic eye makeup tutorial, and you can do that first, or later in the process. however no matter what you start with make sure you set yourself up right! Make sure you have moisturized skin. Then you’ll want to add a primer. We recommend Porefessional Primer from Benefit Cosmetics. You will only want to apply primer to “problem areas” like the t-zone.

Add Full Face Makeup: Foundation And Blush

Next, you will want to apply your foundation. Use a brush and light hand to stipple the foundation all over. This includes taking foundation down to your neck so you don’t have an unseemly line at the chin. Stila’s Hide & Chic Fluid Foundation is a great, light-weight, buildable foundation and comes in a wide range of shades.

After, you will want to apply blush. We like LimeLife by Alcone Perfect Blush in Keen. Again, use a light hand, starting at the apple of the cheeks and applying up toward the temples. You want just enough to provide some color and lift.

Focus On Your Eyes

If you haven’t already, now is a great time to apply the dramatic eye makeup tutorial. You will also want to apply under-eye concealer at this time. You need to be careful with under eye products, especially of their thicker. Since the skin around your eye is the thinnest and most sensitive it is easy for thick products to get stuck in lines and appear heavy. The Bye Bye Undereye Concealing Pot from It Cosmetics is lightweight and anti-aging but will provide enough coverage to hide dark circles or discoloration.

Then if you need to, move on to eyebrows. Not everyone needs or even wants to do their eyebrows. If you do, check out our eyebrows in 4 steps tutorial. Or just use natural colored eyeshadows to give shape, definition and color to your brows. If you really want to kick it up a notch or want a dedicated brow product, Gimme Brow by Benefit Cosmetics is great. When choosing a color for your eyebrows it is almost always better to go with a cooler shade than a warmer shade.

Add Finishing Touches

No full-face makeup look is complete without lips! You will want to choose a lip color that looks great with your skin tone and the colors you’re wearing. The Pure Envy Sculpting Lipstick has many colors to choose from and is a great lipstick. For this video, we went with color #240, Tumultuous Pink, which is a nice raspberry color. The last step will be to add some translucent powder. You will just add this where you put primer originally, so in the t-zone area generally.

Setting Spray

From Charlotte’s award-winning Airbrush Flawless Finish collection, this multitasking lightweight formula serves to prime and set makeup. It’s the perfect canvas for makeup application and instantly locks in your look for a flawless, poreless finish. Film former polymers form a strong but flexible, breathable film across the skin to keep makeup in place. Japanese green tea is an anti-oxidant that preserves the natural moisture barrier for softer, hydrated skin, while aromatic resin blurs the appearance of pores.
