Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional Face Primer, $31

1. Prep accordingly

The morning of, prepare your skin for the long haul. The weather outside is wreaking havoc on our epidermis’ so let’s moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! I️ love Limelight by Alcone’s Skin Therapist lotion because it is a gentle formula that doesn’t take 6 years to soak in. You can apply and then go straight into foundation.

If you feel that you tend to be on the oilier side of life just apply primer to your party makeup. Benefit’s The POREfessional is great! It has oil/shine control while minimizing pores and keeping your makeup in check.

2. Back into the land of the living

NARS The Multiple – Orgasm, $39

Whether skin chemistry or the brand, blush can be one of the first things to start breaking down. Giving it a little touch up swipe or two can get you glowing again in no time! Just apply to the apples of the cheeks and swipe upwards and outwards. If you are on the go, grab the NARS “The Multiple” – Orgasm…it is a blush in a stick form so you are getting the creamy moisture that you can apply with your fingertips! This color will always be a favorite, just the right amount of shimmer and the perfect color that complete any party makeup! Always think of wanting all the shapes (blush & eyeshadows) on your face to look like an upside-down Christmas tree. This way everything has lift, no saggy bits!

3. Get a little sassy

When the sun sets its time to ditch that nude lipstick for something more fun. Nude lips can really make you look washed out and having a bright pop can add so much to the mix. A nice light red or peach can completely change a look. If you are frightened of your color bleeding, snag Covergirl’s Farewell Feathering Lip Liner (clear in color so goes with any lipstick) to keep any unwanted straying color in check.

4. Blurred lines:

Using a pencil or gel eyeliner underneath the lower lash line can look a bit severe and also close your eye off. A great way to add a little dash of sass to your evening look is to add an eyeshadow to the lower lash line and blend to soften the look…BAM…sultry without being a scary five-alarm smoky eye!  Eyeshadows are wonderful because you still get the intensity of the color you are wanting while keeping it soft and subtle. Don’t be scared to add a little more eyeshadow to your lids too! Please check out my article from last January to help get a few more eye makeup tips!

5. Get your pheromones working:

Batiste Original Clean Dry Shampoo, $5.99

Adding a spritz of something that makes you happy is a sure-fire way to perk up. Batiste Dry Shampoo is a godsend! They have different colors to match your hair and they smell absolutely divine. I️ always feel a bit invigorated when I️ catch a whiff of it during the day. A nice perfume or even a mist of rose water can be just what you need to get you up and motivated again. Scents can really help with so much!

So when you have your next “full day” on your calendar, get excited and plan accordingly! You will be fresh as a daisy and the ready to tackle anything. When you feel great, you look great. Don’t forget to take care of yourselves this busy holiday season. If you need to sneak off for a foot massage or that extra yoga class don’t be frightened to do it! Remember, it’s time to do so many things for friends and family this time of year but it’s the holidays for you too! Much love! Xo – Elizabeth
