Confession. Right now, I have 15 pairs of Born shoes in my closet – 6 sandals, 8 wedges and a pair of boots. It’s become a collection. Or an obsession, however you look at it. Just… at some point, I realized the Borns were the shoes I wore.
The first pair were gifted. As a mom of a Tasmanian boy, all the beautiful heels cherished pre-pregnancy were no longer feasible for the daily chase. But, I still wanted feminine pretty shoes.
The Born black sandals given to me had so much style, just enough of a heel and were so comfortable I wore them with everything, everywhere. Those particular hard-worn sandals were repaired at the shoe shop for 9 years until I finally had to put them to rest with tears in my eyes.
When I went to buy my second pair, I gulped a bit at the price. They aren’t super expensive, but they are a level up to what I was used to spending. But by that point I knew how worth it they were. Now, I don’t even blink.
Comfortable but stylish. It’s the reason I keep seeking Born’s out.
They are the shoes I can literally walk across a city in, or stand up in all day and still be OK at the end of the day, while feeling fashionable at the same time. Even with all the wear-and-tear I put them through, they hold up well.
And they’re light. I already wear a large shoe size. Any weight will make me feel like a clodhopper. But these are stable without heft.

Born didn’t pay me to say any of this, by the way. I’m just a fan of 10+ years that insists on buying this brand. They’ve spoiled me, really, as I can no longer tolerate shoes that hurt my feet.
Why invest in a pair of Born shoes:
- Really comfortable soles
- Lightweight
- Beautiful, fashionable styles
- Good leather
- Feminine fit
- Always true to size
- Really well made
- Value for the price
- Unusual color choices
When you read what they say about their shoe construction it makes sense!
