A new product to combat vaginal dryness without hormones has just hit the market. Here’s everything you need to know about Revaree, including its cost, where to buy it, and how to use it.
Disclaimer: This post on Revaree is for informational purposes only. If you have any questions or concerns about the product, speak with your doctor or gynecologist.
My Experience with Vaginal Dryness
Over a decade ago, I had a full hysterectomy due to a dermoid tumor on my right ovary that was growing by the minute. So, I went from a natural estrogen balance to no estrogen at all in one day. And while my gynecologist and I were working on balancing my hormones after surgery, I had dryness hit me like a ton of bricks, and I would have done anything to stop it. I was too young for natural menopause, so my doctor recommended estrogen replacement therapy.
I talked to my pharmacist about over-the-counter products and spent countless dollars on each trip. Unfortunately, nothing worked except using the estrogen patch. If Revaree had been on the market back then, you can bet your bile duct I would have tried it. I know the pain and discomfort that vaginal dryness brings, and can recall almost getting to the point of not being able to concentrate on anything else.
Happily, my current hormone replacement therapy works for me, but Revaree is an excellent solution for those looking for a non-hormonal intervention to treat vaginal dryness.
What Is Revaree?
As we age, vaginal atrophy can occur due to a decrease in estrogen in our bodies. Revaree is a suppository-style insert that, when placed, actually heals and stops the atrophy, thinning, and damaged skin and offers moisture, something we all need. It accomplishes this with an ingredient you may have heard of before: hyaluronic acid.
Just like we use hyaluronic acid to maintain our skin’s hydration, it works in the exact same way for vaginal tissue. At first, I thought it was ridiculous. Then, after doing some research and noting that the tissue is mildly acidic, it made a ton of sense.
And if you need a little bit of brushing up on exactly what hyaluronic acid is, it’s a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that promotes healing and hydration. The acid actually attracts and retains up to 1,000 times its weight in moisture.
Revaree doesn’t need an applicator, so it isn’t messy and is simply inserted using your fingers. You’ll want to use it at night, right after you get into bed, so the hyaluronic acid will stay put and work its magic. The insert dissolves after about 30 minutes. You may notice some discharge, but that’s totally normal.
How the Product Performs
If you’re a sucker for statistics like I am, according to the official website, women who used Reveree experienced an:
- 84% improvement in vaginal dryness
- 86% reduction in vaginal itching and burning
- 57% reduction in painful sex
Once started, most women found an improvement in nine days.
Additionally, Revaree:
- Is scientifically validated and has been thoroughly tested for safety, efficacy, and potency
- The manufacturer rigorously tests its products for microbiological contaminants to ensure that our products are safe and of the highest quality.
Revaree’s Cost
I have to give my two cents here. When I was dealing with a vicious case of dryness, I would have given any amount of money to stop it in its tracks. I wanted the burning, pain, and feeling like I needed to pee constantly gone, like, now.
Each box of Revaree includes a 10-pack of suppository-style inserts that are meant to be used every two or three days, so you should get about a month’s worth of dosages per order.
If you just want to test drive it before you commit, a box of 10 is $62. You’ll save 18% on the monthly plan, so a box will be $47. And if you’re all in for using it, you can pay a quarterly cost of $126 every three months, making each month come in at $42. All prices offer free shipping as well.
As it’s an over-the-counter product and not a prescription-based product, it’s important to note that you won’t be able to bill your health plan.
