Prime founder, Jan Fletcher OBE, invited fellow Prime founder, Dorthy Miller Shore, to join her and her family at Royal Ascot this year, Britain’s most valuable and important race meeting. Much like the U.S.’s Kentucky Derby, Royal Ascot attracts many of the world’s finest racehorses to compete for more than £6.58 million in prize money.

As a racehorse owner herself, Jan’s tickets and tables were inside The Royal Enclosure, a beautiful space transformed entirely for the Royal meeting where membership is by invitation only. The dress code in the Royal Enclosure makes Royal Ascot a major fashion event in its own right. Formal day wear and hats for the ladies,

and the men are required to wear either black or grey morning dress, which must include a waistcoat and tie (no cravats), a black or grey top hat and black shoes.

Of course the highlight of attending Royal Ascot is the Royal Procession. The Queen is a dedicated racehorse owner who has attended every Royal Meeting during her reign and the Royal Procession is always an iconic moment to herald the start of every race day.

Looking as regal and as royal as she is, the Queen was stunning in her complementing shades of blue.
