The hottest new fashion trend in shoes is the block heel, and that’s good news for those of us who have lived too many years in pencil thin heels. According to podiatry experts, the thicker the heel the better for comfort and less strain on your feet and ankles. While the block heel officially debuted last spring, they were typically edgier and higher than most of us would care to wear. Fortunately, this year, you’ll find a multitude of styles and heel heights to choose from.

There’s the ladylike block heeled pump that looks great with straight-legged pants, cropped flares, or a-line skirts/dresses for spring.
Strappy blocked heels are great with floaty dresses, pencil and fuller skirts. Depending on the material and color of the shoe, you could get away with wearing these heels with your most formal dresses.
