Our third edition this year in our wardrobe staple posts (or wardrobe essentials) is a block heel sandal. If I had to name my favorite style of heel available today, it’s a chunky heel, but in a sandal style, especially for summer. That sturdy column of support makes me feel I could go just about anywhere. Especially if it’s not too tall, like this sandal by Pedro Garcia. That being said, one of the finer qualities of a good, blocky heel is that they can help me reach heights I would never attempt in a skinny heel. Add an open toe, and it’s heaven. No crunched little piggies smashed into a pointy-toed pump for me. At least not on a regular basis.
This perfect Pedro Garcia Willa Block Heel Sandal was selected just in time for April. Warm weather, outdoor parties, street festivals and patio dinners all call for a shoe that not only makes you feel great, it makes you look great. A simple, well styled chunky heel sandal can be your best friend. Like the girlfriend you call when you just HAVE to speak to someone with a modicum of common sense, it offers firm, devoted support and boosts your confidence.
Plus, this sandal style doesn’t care what you’re wearing. Jeans? Sure. Shorts? Great! Dress? Why not? In addition to the Pedro Garcia’s, we selected some other options in heel height (for those more daring souls – or soles), and those who prefer a little less daring. You’ll also find a range of prices, from “bingo! to bling!” as I like to call it.
Don’t throw out your pumps, flats and strappy sandals, but do add a block heel sandal to your spring/summer wardrobe. They are the over 50 girl’s new “best friend.”
Meanwhile, I hope you are enjoying the wardrobe essential posts that began in January. Next up? Jeans, of course. My wardrobe eternal. Join us in April for a selection of divine denims.
