Go classic with a twist this new year season by adding a unique spirit to the mix. Here are a few ideas to check out: the American Godfather, a Smoky Mary, a Reposado Manhattan, and a Canadian Negroni. Any of these will be great New Year’s Eve cocktails!
American Godfather
- 1 part Slaughter House American Whiskey
- 1 part Diasronno Amaretto Liqueur
Pour equal parts Slaughter House American Whiskey (instead of Scotch) and Disaronno Amaretto Liqueur over ice in a rocks glass.
The Slaughter House American Whiskey is made from 85% corn, 8% wheat, 6% rye, and 1% malted barley, aged 9 years in American oak and then finished in Orin Swift wine barrels. It is intense with caramel, butterscotch, vanilla, and grilled peach notes, a perfect partner for the Amaretto.
Smoky Mary
- 2 oz Chase Smoked Vodka
- Bloody Mary Mix
- Celery garnish
Pour vodka into a highball glass. Top with your favorite Bloody Mary mix and garnish with a celery stalk.
Chase Smoked Vodka is a woodsy, peppery English oak-smoked potato vodka. This vodka gives a classic cocktail a delicious twist.
Reposado Manhattan
- 1.5 oz Partida Tequila Reposado
- .5 oz Whip Saw Rye Whiskey
- .5 oz The Partner Sweet Vermouth
- .5 oz Boissiere Extra Dry Vermouth
- Angostura Bitters
- Lemon peel for garnish
Pour all ingredients except the last two over ice and stir. Add a dash of bitters. Garnish with a lemon peel.
Partida Tequila Reposado is full, smoky, and spicy with notes of mushroom, citrus, vanilla, caramel, and char. Whip Saw Rye Whiskey is a spicy and bold corn-based American whiskey with notes of a toasted bagel and finished in Bob Cabral’s Williams Selyem Pinot Noir barrels for a mellow softness. The Partner Sweet Vermouth California is bold and bittersweet with notes of red cherry, cardamom, and coriander seed. Boissiere Extra Dry Vermouth is lively and lightly sweet with notes of lemon, orange, chamomile, and almonds.
Canadian Negroni
- 1 part Empress Gin 1908
- 1 part Campari
- 1 part Boissiere Sweet Vermouth
Stir all ingredients over ice in a rocks glass.
Empress Gin 1908, a crisp and smooth small-batch gin, has notes of lemon zest, orange blossom, white peach, and juniper. It is from Victoria, British Columbia. Boissiere Sweet Vermouth is sweet and savory with notes of chamomile, coriander seed, nutmeg, and herbs.
