Dark, dreary and cold… Let’s pump up our moods a bit with some fun pops of lighter, brighter spring tones. Icy blue and rose/blush are great spring style colors to add using a jacket, sweater or scarf. They can transition all the way through the end of spring as the days get warmer but nights stay chilly. Brighten up to a lighter-wash jean or perhaps even white. Personally, I wear white all winter with boots and sweaters. Yes, I know I am breaking the “no white after Labor Day” rule which I have never believed in. This is the time to break the rule again and bring out your white sneakers as well, and yes, I never put them away either…
The BoHo look is still a fun way to wear a few layers and still look stylish and cute—floral dresses or tops with jean jackets or a yummy blanket scarf with some pretty spring style colors in it. As the day s warm, the scarf can adorn your handbag until you need it again. Add in some tights and cute booties, or step out of the box a bit and wear your bright colored rain boots and you are off to lunch with the girls!
Since that lovely blush color has been hot since last fall, you probably have at least a few pieces in your closet that you can pull out. Layer pieces by adding in a duster length sweater, cardigan or maybe even a leather jacket—think a blush sleeveless dress with a navy duster sweater belted with some killer knee-high boots! I personally have a darling spring/summer print dress that I pair with a black leather jacket and high heel booties—a very unlikely pairing but I always gets compliments when I wear it.
So ladies, let’s raise a glass to a mood-boosting infusion of spring style to transition us through the next three dreary months into some sunshine and cherry blossoms! Cheers~
