Can a PRiME woman pull off a trendy look?
I’m always battling with my good friend and fashion consultant, Audrey, on what looks appropriate on me (I’m 64, FYI). She generally wants to push the envelope and I’m usually saying “Really? You think that is something I should be wearing?” Case in point is the last grouping she sent me for the magazine revolving around a pair of Vince rib-cuffed “jogger” pants. Audrey thought they would be perfect for our PRiME reader. I was more than skeptical but decided I would give them a try. Enlisting the help of our ad agency’s creative director who happens to be a pretty good photographer, we headed to my house to stage some fashion magazine type photos. I did my best to look the part of the Vogue model but I think I just looked ticked off instead… Regardless, I do have to say the cuffed pants looked better than I expected and they were VERY comfortable (elastic waistband) yet ultra stylish. I do think the right shoe is critical with these pants and the blousy tops are a good pairing. As usual, Audrey was right and we can adopt a lot of the more trendy looks without looking like we borrowed our daughter’s clothes!
