Before there is a chill in the air, for the majority of us, fall presents itself at the makeup counter.
Beautiful hues adorn this season’s makeup collections. Whether you are light or dark on the skin tone wheel, these recommendations will add the richness and depth of color that we all seek heading into sweater weather.
Fall Finds:
Creating a fresh fall face begins by keeping the tone of your foundation warm and healthy. As your foundation lightens, keep the healthy glow of summer slightly in your corner by adding a drop of Armani Fluid Sheer #05. Just a pea-size amount mixed into your existing coverage product will add the glow that fades as we leave summer behind.
Finding the perfect fall blush has just become a no brainer. Chanel Joues Contraste Powder in Innocence is the best of both worlds. This blush is a mix of pinks and beiges neutral enough for all of your wardrobe selections. The Chanel Contraste Blushes have enough pigment to transfer depth of color to even the darkest of skin tones.
Armani Cosmetics has developed the Eye & Brow Maestro. This creamy product is waterproof and extremely versatile. It can be used for liner, shadow, and as a touch up your to your roots when they no longer match the rest of your hair color. The sheen that appears in these Maestro pots allows the color to appear natural in your brows and at your hairline. Using these pots of creamy color as shadow guarantees that your shadow will stay where it is applied. There are nine colors and my favorites are #2(soft taupe), #8 (grey) and #1 (jet Black).
Christian Dior has recreated their 5 Couleurs Eye Shadow Palette’s for fall. Two of these sets stick out as must-haves. The blend ability of these shadows is unparalleled. Bar 56 is compiled of a grey, taupe, pink, off white and a black. This set allows you to create a natural look or a far more intense look.
The other set is Pied De Poule, which takes on all the warmest hues of fall in olive tones mixed with a metallic navy. This set imparts a soft smoky look that harkens a cool weather vibe.
Straight off the runway is the defined black eyeliner. Chanel’s Ecriture Eyeliner Pen makes the application process easy because the tip is thin and flexible. Keeping the liner clean and tight is a must and this product allows you to apply the liner like a pro.
Nothing says fall like a deep rich lip color. Christian Dior’s 879 Rouge Massai is an exquisite red that has the added benefit of making your teeth appear whiter. Although, when wearing a smoky eye, you might want to keep them as the standout and wear a neutral lip.
Tom Ford has brought back the 90’s nude with Negligee. Negligee is worth every penny because it enhances your natural lip color with a blend of exotic ingredients.
If red isn’t for you, a deep plum can take the place of red this fall. YSL Prune Avenue is a rich and velvety berry that can take you from day to night depending on how many layers you apply.
Transitioning from summer to fall is always tricky when the temperature doesn’t reflect the date on the calendar. Adding a few updated products can help you make the changeover seamless.
