Happy November, everyone. Hope you made it through October as well as we have here – except for the rain we’ve had record amounts of in North Texas. At least the wet weather may bring us a little autumn color in our trees. More often than not, our leaves just turn brown and fall off. Fingers crossed!
There is so much to look forward to this month. In the U.S., we will be celebrating Thanksgiving on the 22nd. Turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole… followed by long naps in preparation for the early start on Black Friday shopping. We will have a list of sales to watch for out to our subscribers just in time to take advantage of the huge savings.
As far as what you can look forward to in the way of articles for November, we will continue deep diving into the trends of the season and sharing our editors’ favorite finds. For health and fitness, we will be looking at how diet affects men and women differently, good yoga moves to keep you relaxed, smart ways to fit in fitness over the holidays, and some healthy recipes to insert into your regular dinner plans.
Our writers are researching technology trends for aging adults – things that can make aging in place easier for ourselves or our parents, how to adapt a mindset of gratitude, and a look at financial goal setting for the coming year – and analysis of 2018.
We have also kicked off a fun series titled, “40 Ways to Leave Your 50s.” While this goal of 50 adventures is about our contributing editor making her 49th year especially memorable, there are all kinds of possibilities to apply this to any milestone birthday – no matter your age. You’re sure to be inspired (and laugh) at Jo’s continuing posts. Make sure you start with the introduction – 50 Ways to Leave Your 40s, then move on to the first adventure.
If you haven’t heard, we launched our Second Acts program and will be sharing the stories of women who have tackled their “unretirement” with enthusiasm. Watch for those and make sure you take a look at the program on our website. We cannot tell you how often the topic of “What should I do for my second act?” comes up amongst the women we know. This program can help sort through the options.
