What’s On Your Feet This Fall?

FAVORITE TREND:

Every season brings out notable footwear. But this season, from New York to London to Milan, the fashion set seemed to (almost) unanimously agree that the perfect shoes are simple sneakers. Fashion Week kicked off in New York with Saint Laurent high-tops, while in London they showed a throwback to Adidas Superstars. Chanel padded down the runway in gilded, over-the-top sneakers while other designers wore simple Keds. By the end of the week, it’s indisputable: Athletic shoes — everything from Reeboks to Converse to New Balance — are all over the place.

Sneakers, on and off the runway. Also, the runway features Adidas sandals worn with socks, doing it oh so right. Chanel makes a megawatt sneaker. Pair them with this season’s chunky knits and normcore casual.

This is good news for all of us who have been clamoring for a break (no pun intended) from the mile high stilettos and monstrous platforms that have graced the runways for the past decade. Rejoice, and head to your nearest shoe store and get inspired with the all of the new shapes, colors and embellishments available in what was once a strictly “wear to the gym” genre of footwear. Happy feet are here again!!
